Why I Teach
A Story for All Students and Families
I’ve spent my life painting, exhibiting in major museums like the Guggenheim and the Met, and collaborating with some of the most visionary artists of the last 50 years. Yet nothing compares to witnessing someone—at any age—discover they can create something powerful with their own hands, and begin to trust what they see and feel.
My private art lessons are built around that moment of discovery. I work one-on-one with each student, whether they’re exploring art for the first time or seeking to deepen existing skills. Together, we focus on fundamental drawing, creative confidence, and developing a personal voice—using still life, abstraction, and composition to nurture both technique and imagination.
The care and high standards I bring to the museum world, I bring equally to every student. I don’t just teach people to draw—I teach them to see.
For those who value creative growth, focused instruction, and mentorship from a working professional, these lessons are a rare opportunity. This is not a cookie-cutter art class. Every session is tailored to the individual—offering the depth, attention, and inspiration every artist deserves, regardless of age or experience.
